The fact that we could amp up even our most regular of lattes with a highly nutritious and organic adaptogenic milk blend, seemed almost too good to be true.

Lucky for us, it’s true!

What is BLUME’s Adaptogenic Milk Blend made from?

This incredible blend is made with only 8 ingredients! Most of which are the adaptogens themselves.

  1. Organic Almonds

  2. Organic Cashews

  3. Organic Coconut

  4. Organic Rolled (Gluten-Free) Oats

  5. Organic Reishi Powder

  6. Organic Cordyceps Powder

  7. Organic Chaga Powder

  8. Organic Lion's Mane Powder

What is an adaptogenic Beverage exactly?

According to a scholarly article written by the Chinese Medicine Journal (2018), plant-based adaptogens can be defined by meeting the following 4 criteria:

  1. Plant-based adaptogens must reduce the harm caused by depression, fatigue, and infection.

  2. Plant-based adaptogens must have positive effects on the body.

  3. The positive effects from the plant-based adaptogens must not cause side effects such as low-protein synthesis, insomnia, or excessive energy production

  4. Plant-based adaptogens must not harm the human body.

While there seems to be many ways that one can define what an adaptogen is, I found these 4 points extremely useful when thinking about what an adaptogenic beverage is.

To qualify as an adaptogenic beverage, I would keep these 4 points in mind moving forward.

It is these 4 reasons that people get excited about adaptogenic beverages and why we were so stoked to try this one!

BLUME Adaptogenic Milk Blend Review & Frothed Latte Taste Test

Does BLUME’s Adaptogenic Milk Blend froth?

It seems to! We only briefly blended it with the Blume Milk Frother and it frothed up quite nicely. It didn’t seem to create as many mini bubbles as oat milk might, but it did create a good amount of surprisingly thick bubbles that held their form for a long time.

So yes, you can enjoy frothy adaptogenic milk in your latte!

Does BLUME’s Adaptogenic Milk taste good in a latte?

YES! In case you didn’t watch the YouTube video above, my husband taste tested this for us as I am currently pregnant and I want to be cautious as there are not many scientific studies on the effects of adaptogens and pregnant women.

My husband taste tested this Blume’s Beetroot Blend as a latte and said he actually preferred using the adaptogenic milk over the regular oat milk due to the pleasant flavor.

What is the texture/mouth-feel of BLUME’s adaptogenic milk?

Smooth and a little more watery than your usual processed plant milk!

This milk is a little more watery than your typical oat milk for sure! This is thanks to the fact that there are absolutely no thickening agents added to the blend. Everything in this blend is for functional and tasty goodness.

That said, we were surprised by how well this adaptogenic milk blended together and did not separate!

There was no weird grainy texture, no slimy consistency, and no chalky taste.

What is the flavor of BLUME’s adaptogenic milk Blend?

According to our taste test, Parker felt that even despite its extremely low sugar count, it had a very pleasant nutty and sweet, almost Pistachio-Esque flavor to it!

There was absolutely no 'mushroom’ flavor in any form.

Very pleasantly naturally sweet and nutty flavors that weren’t overpowering.

Comparing the adaptogenic milk to regular unsweetened oat milk, the adaptogenic milk made it seem like regular oat milk is packed with sugar! It is great to finally have an option that is truly low in sugar content.

Final Thoughts on the Vegan Adaptogenic Milk Blend

This milk blend is a little more pricey than your regular oat milk bought at the store. However, when you think about the health benefits of all the adaptogens you are including in your drinks, the price feels worth it.

I wouldn’t fully get rid of my much-beloved oat milk, but I would use this milk blend more often throughout the week in order to pack in the restorative adaptogens.

If you give this a taste, let us know in the YouTube comment section! <3
